Chapter 37: Change of Kanoe

Chapter 37: Change of Kanoe

Ren sat next to Kanoe . A hand was slapped directly on her back.

After locating the position of her lungs, Ren began to attempt changing the direction of her breathing through massage.

Although this method wasn't as convenient as direct mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, it was enough for Ren.

After a smooth operation, the painful expression on her face improved significantly, and her breath began to flow correctly according to Ren's gestures.

In the quiet woods, the girl slowly opened her eyes. The first thing that came into view was the moonlight, followed by a gentle smile. The girl lowered her face subconsciously, not daring to look up at him.

"Ren," Kanoe said softly.

"What's wrong?" Ren replied seriously.

Kanoe buried her face in her knees, not daring to raise her head to look at Ren. But she couldn't help but say, "I have the same thing as you."

"Oh?" Ren became interested. "What is that?"

Kanoe pointed to her chest and whispered, "Breathing."

"Our breathing is the same now."

"And this breath is so warm."

"Really?" Ren smiled and closed his eyes. He imitated her, taking a deep breath.

The two of them breathed quietly. The atmosphere was very still.

Under the thick darkness of the night, both could even hear each other's heartbeat.

While Ren kept his eyes closed, Kanoe stole a glance at him from the corner of her eye.

The moonlight gently illuminated his face, making the edges and corners of his cheeks appear particularly clear.

Her heart couldn't help but race.

Just then, Ren suddenly opened his eyes. He looked at Kanoe with a smile on his face and uttered a "fatal" torture:

"Were you peeking at me just now?"

"You don't like me, do you?"

Kanoe was stunned, then quickly raised her head. "No, no, no..."

She was furious, the words tinged with embarrassment. Her delicate body straightened due to the nervousness.

Seeing this, Ren couldn't help but laugh. "You answered my question!"

"What's the problem?" Kanoe pretended to be confused, lowering her head and smiling sweetly.

But Ren's voice didn't come.

Kanoe raised her head.

The next moment, the distance between them suddenly narrowed. His angular face was so close to hers that Kanoe could feel his breath.

In her ears, Ren's magnetic voice gradually sounded: "Do you like talking to me?"

Kanoe's face turned red, and she subconsciously responded, "I like it."

"Then do you like the breathing method I taught you?"

"I like it," Kanoe continued.

"Then... do you like me?"

"Hi..." Kanoe suddenly paused.

She raised her head and glanced at Ren.

Then, her face turned as red as a ripe apple.

"Why isn't Kanoe saying anything?" Ren flicked Kanoe's forehead lightly. "Still not talkative?"

Kanoe fell silent this time and ignored him.

This man was really bad!

The two sat quietly. For a moment, the air was silent again.

Until a tingling sensation suddenly appeared on Kanoe's arm. Her cheeks felt a little hot.

She glanced at Ren cautiously and found that he was admiring the scenery, not coming any closer.

Kanoe couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

"Ren."

"What's wrong?"

"Itch."

"Itch?"

Ren turned his head and discovered that a mosquito had been stuck on Kanoe's arm for some time.

"Crack!" Shadowless Hand activated!

The mosquito died tragically in Ren's hands.

Ren scanned the surroundings and suddenly noticed more mosquitoes gathering.

"Shadowless Hand!"

Snap, snap, snap, snap!

After a while of operation, all the mosquitoes were killed with precision.

Ren looked at Kanoe's arm and noticed a small, pimple-sized mark on her fair skin.

He walked toward the grass behind him, plucking a pure white flower from the bush. Then, he gently placed it on Kanoe's arm.

"Is it still itchy?" Ren asked.

Kanoe glanced at him blankly.

At that moment, the scene seemed to freeze. Under the bright moonlight, a young man was holding beautiful flowers, gently placing them on her shoulder.

There was a smile in his eyes, and his words floated on her face like a breeze, making her feel cool and elegant—something uniquely feminine.

Kanoe couldn't help but feel fascinated.

"Sister?" she thought absentmindedly.

He really looked like Sister Kanae. Even the flowers were picked from the same species.

Kanoe wished she could stay a little longer.

At that moment, Ren's voice came again. "Are you still itchy?"

Kanoe pursed her lips lightly. "It doesn't itch anymore."

"Really?"

Ren smirked and then moved his hand toward her shoulder, teasing her.

The girl blushed and stared at Ren in disbelief, her look saying: "Don't do this!"

Interesting. So interesting!

Kanoe wanted to laugh but didn't dare to.

In the end, Ren couldn't bear to continue teasing her.

He retracted his hand and said, "Kanoe, you've never dared to talk to others, have you?"

Kanoe's delicate body trembled, and the shame and anger in her heart disappeared without a trace.

Ren's words touched her heart.

Ren, playing with the flowers on her shoulder, spoke gently, "As long as there's an opportunity, people's hearts will blossom. So, it doesn't matter."

"If one day I find something I like, Kanoe will change."

"But." Kanoe clenched her hands awkwardly, "It's not enough."

Ren smiled and asked, "Can you show me your coin, then?"

Hearing this, Kanoe hesitated for a moment, then put her little hand inside her clothes. She carefully took out a bronze coin from her arm.

The coin had a smooth color, as if it had been touched by someone's hands for a long time. Kanoe had carried it for a long time—never leaving it behind.

She handed the coin to Ren.

Ren placed the coin on his thumb and said, "Let's play another game."

"If the coin lands tail-side up, Kanoe will remain as she is."

"If the coin lands heads-up, Kanoe must listen to her inner voice and do something."

"How about it?"

After thinking for a moment, Kanoe nodded.

"Then let's begin!"

Ren flicked the coin with his fingers, and it flew into the air.

Kanoe stared at it, afraid of missing the moment of the result.

Suddenly, Ren made a snapping sound.

It immediately caught Kanoe's attention.

The sound of hands clapping!

Kanoe's eyes immediately fell on Ren's hand.
