The soft sound of the birds singing outside and the silence after the rain, which has finally subsided, bring a new sense of hope. The forest around them feels quieter, as if nature is giving everyone a second chance.
Luna stands up and adjusts her uniform, feeling stronger than before. "Let's get out of this forest," she says, with determination. Donan, still deep in thought, simply nods in agreement, avoiding her gaze. They begin walking together, no longer as adversaries, but as two people who, in some way, now have something in common. A new beginning, where tensions are being left behind, but where a new respect begins to form, slowly.
In his immaculate white outfit, Donan feels like something is out of place. He looks at his shoes and notices that his shoelace is undone. As he crouches down to tie it, a distant and deep sound begins to echo through the forest. He quickly raises his head, trying to identify the source. The sound of the helicopter hovering overhead is unmistakable. They must be searching for him. But the forest is too dense, the tree canopies form an impenetrable roof. The helicopter, likely, won't see him.
Donan looks up, his eyes fixed on the sound, and then, as he turns his head, he sees Luna. She is there, in front of him, also looking at the helicopter. The exact moment he sees her, their eyes meet, and it's as if the world freezes for a moment. Luna is so close, so real, that the intensity of the moment makes a strange warmth rise to his face. He's so embarrassed that, for a second, it feels like his body won't respond anymore.
His nose starts to twitch, and before he can stop it, a slight feeling of bleeding begins. He hastily turns his face to the side, trying to hide what's happening. The embarrassment is so great that he starts running toward the van, feeling like everything around him is spinning.
Luna, surprised by his reaction, runs after him. "What happened? Donan, what's wrong?" she asks, concerned. But he, like a madman, starts rummaging through the van, flipping through compartments and corners, as if searching for something urgent. Until, suddenly, his eyes shine as he finds what he was looking for: a clean white apron.
He grabs it quickly, his hands trembling, and without looking at her, he slightly turns away, trying to avoid Luna's gaze. "Luna... if you want to keep being my friend, please put this on. Put it on to cover..." he begins, his voice faltering with embarrassment, "...the excess."
Luna, still confused and touched by his sudden change in behavior, raises her eyebrows and responds, trying to understand. "Do you think I'm that ugly? Why do you want to cover me?"
Donan, his eyes closed, feeling the pressure of the moment, takes a deep breath before speaking in a softer tone, almost a whisper: "No... it's exactly the opposite, Luna. It's because you're so beautiful that I want to... preserve what's between us."
Luna stands still, speechless, feeling a mix of emotions. What he said touched something deep inside her, something she hadn't expected. The intensity of the moment hangs in the air, as if a new layer of intimacy has formed between them, though still laden with insecurity and confusion.
They continue walking through the forest, with their hope renewed by the sound of the helicopter that, although growing louder, isn't enough to help them. The dense vegetation and the tree canopies make it impossible for the helicopter to locate them, leaving them even more isolated. The tension grows with every step, as they know that at any moment, they may face new dangers.
As they move forward, the atmosphere becomes heavier. The sun begins to hide behind the clouds, making the air feel stifling and uncomfortable. It was then that, suddenly, a strange sound cut through the silence. It was the sound of monkeys, but this time, they weren't just watching. They were coming closer, in greater numbers, with a more aggressive attitude.
Luna, frightened, takes a step back, but Donan, calmer and more determined, steps in front of her. He knows he must protect Luna at all costs. Firmly, he picks up a stone from the ground and throws it toward the monkeys, trying to drive them away. They retreat for a moment, but soon return, angrier, drawn by their presence in the forest.
Donan, still a little dazed and trying to understand the situation he's in, decides to break the silence. He looks at Luna with a confused expression, as if something is bothering his mind, and asks in a somewhat playful, somewhat curious tone:
"Are you a real nurse, or is this all just a fantasy? I mean, do you really know what you're doing, or... is it just a game?"
Luna, with the intensity of the situation, feels a slight smile form on her face but quickly wipes it off to keep her focus. She thinks for a moment, not exactly sure how to answer, while continuing to walk beside him.
"I... I'm not a real nurse, Donan. I haven't done any courses, nothing like that. But I know how to take care of people. I know what needs to be done, even without the title."
She continues walking, not looking directly at him, but feeling the growing tension in her chest. She keeps the answer vague, not revealing too much about her own feelings, as the secret she carries in her heart begins to weigh a little more.
Donan, still processing her response, doesn't say anything immediately. He knows there's more behind that simple answer, but he doesn't have the courage to push for more questions. He remains silent for a while, reflecting on what she said, as their walk in the forest continues.
Luna walked with Donan through the forest, the sound of the helicopter now distant but still present in her mind. Fear seemed to dissipate as they advanced, but she knew more challenges were ahead. The forest was not just a maze of trees and shadows; there was something else there, something they hadn't yet noticed.
She kept her posture, always vigilant, her eyes attentive to the details. Donan, beside her, looked visibly tired, and the tension in his body was palpable. He had begun to realize that Luna wasn't just an ordinary girl. Her skills, though hidden, were evident with every movement. The way she remained calm, the precision with which she observed every step, all indicated that there was more to Luna than he had imagined.
The tension between them grew with each passing moment. Luna was trying to hide what she truly knew how to do, the secret of her strength and martial skills. But she knew that, eventually, he would find out.
And when that happened, everything would change between them. She feared what he might think, what he might feel when he discovered that the woman beside him was capable of destroying anyone who crossed her path, even without effort. Deep down, she feared that Donan might start seeing her differently, fearing her, and not as a friend or partner.
