Chapter 40 : Wooden Quirk

"These three are absolutely crazy! What did I do in my past life to end up matched with lunatics like them?" 

Kirishima Eijiro stood up, almost in tears. 

Soon, he spotted the flattened mock nuclear weapon nearby. 

"Hey! Take a break! The nuclear weapon's been crushed!" Kirishima shouted toward Ezaki Kitazawa and the others still fighting. 

But clearly, Bakugo Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto were only interested in battling Ezaki Kitazawa. 

Winning or losing? The flattened nuclear weapon? They couldn't care less. 

"They're completely ignoring me," Kirishima sighed. 

He didn't want to get involved in the fight, so he dragged a flat slab of concrete to a distant spot, sat down, and watched the battle like a spectator. 

Meanwhile, Ezaki Kitazawa couldn't believe what happened next. 

Todoroki Shoto, who usually refused to use his fire Quirk, actually used it to deal with him. 

"Die! Die! Die!" 

Bakugo Katsuki kept launching explosive attacks at Ezaki Kitazawa, but things weren't looking good—almost none of his blasts hit their target. 

Spotting an opening, Ezaki Kitazawa launched a punch straight at Bakugo's stomach. 

"Boom!" 

Bakugo staggered back several steps, clutching his stomach with a grimace. 

"Ssssss!" 

Just then, a layer of ice rapidly formed, freezing Ezaki Kitazawa in place. 

"Haaah!" 

Todoroki Shoto swung his right hand, causing two massive ice blocks to rise on either side of Ezaki Kitazawa. 

They merged together with incredible speed, producing a deafening crash. 

"Now's our chance!"

Todoroki Shoto shouted at Bakugo Katsuki, who was holding his stomach, then charged forward. He knew that an attack like this could only barely restrain Ezaki Kitazawa's movements but wouldn't be enough to defeat him. 

 Bakugo Katsuki glanced at the grenade-shaped gauntlet on his wrist and said in a deep voice: 

"I've stored enough! That damn bastard—this time, I'll make him suffer." 

With that, he quickly followed Todoroki Shoto toward Ezaki Kitazawa. 

**Bakugo Katsuki's Quirk:** Explosion. His palms secrete a sweat-like substance that can be detonated at will. He can create explosions wherever his palms touch and use the blast force for propulsion. The power of the explosions depends on how much he sweats. 

In summer, his explosions are stronger due to increased sweating, while in winter, activation is slower. 

His combat suit's grenade-shaped gauntlets store the sweat his palms secrete. When needed, he can release it all at once, creating a massive explosion. 

Since such powerful blasts have limits, the gauntlet design allows for safe releases beyond his body's normal capacity. 

"Half face, let me handle this. I'm gonna make him pay for everything!" Bakugo Katsuki said with a sinister grin. 

Todoroki Shoto paused, while Bakugo Katsuki leaped forward and shouted: 

"Big Explosion!" 

He pulled the pin on his grenade-shaped gauntlet. A black vortex instantly appeared at the blast point. A golden beam of light struck the icy ground, triggering a powerful explosion. 

"BOOM!" 

The explosion's shockwave flung Bakugo Katsuki backward. Shattered ice flew everywhere, and thick black smoke quickly covered the area. 

Landing on the ground, Bakugo Katsuki grinned fiercely against the strong wind. 

"No matter how tough you are, you should be down now!" 

Todoroki Shoto stood nearby, silent, his eyes fixed on the smoke-covered area. 

At that moment, Kirishima Eijiro emerged from the smoke and said, bewildered: 

"Is this still indoor combat training? The building's wrecked, and even the nuclear bomb is crushed!" 

"Did you forget the rules?" Bakugo Katsuki sneered. "All Might said we win if we catch the hero or hold out long enough. Ezaki Kitazawa is already down—you're the only one left." 

Before he could finish, a massive wooden fist slammed Bakugo Katsuki into the air. 

Then, from within Kurogiri, Ezaki Kitazawa's voice rang out: 

"Who told you I was down?!" 

With a loud stomp, a giant wooden figure emerged from the smoke, with Ezaki Kitazawa standing proudly on its forehead. 

Yes—this was the *My Hero Academia* version of the 'Wooden Golem Technique.' 

Todoroki Shoto and Kirishima Eijiro stared wide-eyed in disbelief. 

"W-What is that thing?!" 

"W-Where did a giant come from?!" 

"I just came for indoor combat training... Are you guys even human?!" Kirishima Eijiro muttered, stunned by the giant.
