Chapter 27: A Storm Within the Coiled Serpent Sect
The Coiled Serpent Sect erupted into chaos as Kayode stepped past the shattered gates. Disciples scrambled to form defensive lines, their blades glinting in the moonlight. Elders barked orders, their auras flaring to suppress the intruder.
Kayode stood tall, his spear resting casually on his shoulder, the spectral tails of Apex Rend swaying ominously behind him. Oba leaped onto his shoulder, yawning lazily.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Kayode," Oba muttered indifferently.
Kayode smirked. "I didn't come here to lose."
The sect's Grand Pavilion loomed ahead, its serpentine carvings seeming to writhe in the flickering torchlight. Disciples poured out from every direction, forming a massive semi-circle around Kayode.
"You dare attack the Coiled Serpent Sect?" an elder shouted, his voice echoing through the compound. His Qi surged as he stepped forward, his green robes billowing. "You'll regret this arrogance, boy!"
Kayode's golden eyes glinted with amusement. "I regret nothing. But you'll regret underestimating me."
The elder roared, sending a torrent of venomous Qi toward Kayode.

Apex Rend Unleashed
Kayode didn't flinch. With a flick of his wrist, his spear spun in a dazzling arc. The crimson tail of Apex Rend lashed out, colliding with the venomous Qi. The resulting explosion shook the ground, sending disciples sprawling.
Before the elder could react, the second tail, glowing with golden energy, surged forward. It wrapped around him like a constricting serpent, crushing his Qi shield with ease.
The elder's face twisted in horror. "This… this isn't normal Qi!"
"You're right," Kayode said, his voice cold. "It's not."
With a final burst of energy, the second tail tightened, and the elder crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
The disciples hesitated, their confidence shaken.

Elders Assemble
From the inner halls, five more elders appeared, their combined aura suffocating. One of them, a woman with sharp features and glowing green eyes, stepped forward. Her voice was calm but deadly.
"You've caused enough trouble, boy. Surrender now, and we might consider sparing your life."
Kayode laughed, his voice echoing through the courtyard. "Surrender? I didn't come here to beg for mercy. I came for revenge."
The elders exchanged glances, their expressions grim. "Then you leave us no choice," the woman said, her voice hardening.
The five elders moved in unison, their techniques blending seamlessly. Serpentine shadows coiled around them, their attacks synchronized to overwhelm Kayode.

The Warrior Soul Awakens
Kayode planted his spear into the ground, his golden eyes blazing. He began circulating his Qi to its limit, and the air around him grew heavy with power.
Behind him, the phantom of the Nigerian warrior emerged, holding a glowing spear. The warrior's presence radiated dominance, and the surrounding Qi trembled in submission.
The elders faltered, their attacks wavering as the phantom locked eyes with them.
"What… what is that?!" one elder gasped, his voice shaking.
Kayode grinned. "This? This is the power your sect tried to destroy."
With a burst of speed, Kayode lunged forward, his spear striking with terrifying precision. The phantom mirrored his movements, amplifying the attack's power.
The first elder was sent flying, his Qi shield shattering like glass. The second fell to his knees, coughing up blood as the third tail of Apex Rend slashed through his defenses.
The remaining elders retreated, their confidence crumbling.

The Sect's Alarm
A massive bell tolled from the Grand Pavilion, its sound resonating through the sect. Kayode's smirk widened.
"Ah, calling reinforcements already? I was just getting started."
Oba leaped from his shoulder, landing gracefully on a nearby pillar. "Kayode, they're signaling the sect master. You need to wrap this up before he arrives, that is if you are not confident."
Kayode twirled his spear, his aura flaring. "Good. Let him come. I've waited long enough for this."
As the disciples and elders regrouped, Kayode pointed his spear toward the Grand Pavilion. "Bring me your sect master. It's time we settle this."
The disciples hesitated, their fear evident. The elders, battered and bloodied, exchanged worried glances.
Oba sighed, his golden eyes narrowing. "You're an idiot, Kayode. But I'll give you this—you make chaos look good."
The storm brewing within the Coiled Serpent Sect was far from over.
