Stepping out of the restaurant's opulent glow and into the cool night air, Lu Siyan and Su Luqi found themselves in the midst of an unexpected spectacle. A cluster of figures in crisp military uniforms had cordoned off a section of the street, their faces grim, their movements brisk and efficient.
"Well, isn't this interesting," Su Luqi commented, her voice laced with a hint of amusement. "Looks like someone's having a less enjoyable evening than we are."
"What's going on?" Lu Siyan asked, peering curiously at the commotion.
"No idea," Su Luqi replied, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "But it's definitely not our problem."
They reached their waiting taxi, and as Su Luqi slid into the driver's seat, she couldn't resist a playful quip. "Looks like someone ordered the 'police escort' with their dessert," she chuckled.
"Maybe they're looking for a runaway sugar daddy," the AI chimed in. "Or a mischievous AI with a penchant for stock market manipulation."
Lu Siyan rolled his eyes at the AI's antics and settled into the passenger seat. As Su Luqi pulled away from the curb, they hadn't gone far when a stern-looking police inspector stepped into the road, signaling them to stop.
Su Luqi, ever the adaptable actress, put on her best 'concerned citizen' face. "Officer," she said, leaning out the window, "what's all the commotion about? Is everything alright?"
The inspector, his face etched with seriousness, gave her a cursory glance. "Just a routine investigation, ma'am. Nothing to worry about."
"But all these soldiers…" Su Luqi pressed, her voice laced with feigned anxiety. "It looks quite serious."
"Someone important was found dead," the inspector explained, his voice low. "We're just following up on some leads."
He gave them a dismissive wave. "You can go now, ma'am. Just… try to avoid this area for a while."
Su Luqi, with a dramatic sigh of relief, nodded and drove on. As they left the scene, Lu Siyan couldn't help but feel a prickle of unease. Someone important… found dead? He thought about Mr. Ling, the executive manager with the military connections. Could this be related?
"Don't worry, sugar daddy," Su Luqi said, her voice reassuring. "It's probably just some boring corporate espionage. Nothing to do with us."
"Unless… it is to do with us," the AI whispered. "Remember those PARAs? Maybe they're on our trail!"
Lu Siyan tried to dismiss the AI's paranoia. Su Luqi was right. It was probably nothing. But he couldn't shake the feeling that something… strange… was happening. And he had a feeling that Su Luqi knew more than she was letting on.
As they drove on, the city lights blurring were shining with an ambitious glaze.

The taxi pulled up to Lu Siyan's apartment building, and Su Luqi, with an almost childlike eagerness, practically leaped out of the car. She hurried towards the entrance, her heels clicking on the pavement, her movements radiating an almost palpable energy.
"Wait up!" Lu Siyan called after her, slightly amused by her enthusiasm.
Just as they were about to enter the building, they were stopped by Aunt Lua, Lu Siyan's elderly neighbor. Aunt Lua, a woman with a heart of gold and a mind as sharp as a tack, had never seen Lu Siyan bring a woman home before. And not just any woman – a woman as stunning as Su Luqi.
Aunt Lua's eyes narrowed, her expression a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. "Lu Siyan," she said, her voice laced with concern, "who is this young lady?"
"Aunt Lua, this is Su Luqi," Lu Siyan said, trying to sound casual. "She's… a friend."
"A friend?" Aunt Lua repeated, her eyebrows raised. "A very… beautiful friend."
"Yes," Lu Siyan said, feeling slightly flustered. "She's… staying with me for a while."
"Staying with you?" Aunt Lua's eyes widened. "Lu Siyan, are you sure this is a good idea? She looks like a… a model! Or one of those actresses on TV. You're such an innocent boy, I'm worried she's taking advantage of you."
"Aunt Lua, I can assure you—" Lu Siyan began, but was interrupted by a voice from the garden.
"Mom! Who are you talking to?"
A young woman emerged from the garden path, her figure lithe and athletic in a light exercise outfit. She had a radiant smile and a warm, approachable demeanor. Her eyes, however, held a spark of intelligence that hinted at a shrewd mind.
"Ah, Meilin," Aunt Lua said, her expression softening. "This is Lu Siyan, your neighbor. And this is his… friend, Su Luqi."
Meilin's smile widened as she approached. "It's so nice to meet you both!" she said, her voice bright and enthusiastic. "I'm Meilin, Aunt Lua's daughter. I just finished my evening run."
She extended a hand to Lu Siyan, her grip firm and friendly. "Lu Siyan, it's wonderful to finally meet you. Mom's been telling me all about you. And Su Luqi, you're absolutely stunning! Are you an actress or something?"
Su Luqi smiled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Something like that," she replied, her voice smooth and enigmatic.
"An actress?" the AI whispered. "Or a… master of disguise? Or maybe… a reality-warping sorceress?"
"Well, it's lovely to have you both here," Meilin said, her enthusiasm infectious. "If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're all neighbors here!"
"Thank you, Meilin," Lu Siyan said, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. Meilin's presence had diffused the awkwardness of the situation.
"Yes, thank you," Su Luqi said, her smile warm and genuine. "We appreciate the welcome."
"Well, I should get back to my workout," Meilin said, waving goodbye. "It was lovely meeting you both!"
As Meilin disappeared back into the garden, Aunt Lua turned back to Lu Siyan, her expression still slightly concerned. "Lu Siyan," she said, her voice low, "be careful. That girl… she's very beautiful. But sometimes, beautiful things can be… dangerous."
"Dangerous?" the AI whispered. "Like… a black hole? Or maybe… a talking computer with a superiority complex?"
Lu Siyan just smiled reassuringly at Aunt Lua. "Don't worry, Aunt Lua," he said. "I'll be fine."
He turned to Su Luqi, who was watching Aunt Lua with a hint of amusement. "Shall we go in?" he asked.
"By all means, sugar daddy," she replied, her smile widening. "Let's go home."
