11- NEVER: WILL I JUMP?

VIOLET'S POV

" Hello to you too."

Ethan eventually stops staring at me. He stares down at the ground and scratches his neck.

I raise an eyebrow at him. I am not sure how long he has been standing on my front porch, waiting for me. I am not sure whether I should apologize for ignoring him because I do not think I heard him call my name to come outside.

When I peered out the kitchen window, I noticed him standing on the front porch.

" Hi, " He glances around, then at me for one second before looking at his bicycle and at me again. " I do not have an automobile or a license to drive only a bicycle... We could ride together to where we would stay."

He glances back at his bicycle, and veins protrude from his hand as he tightens his grasp on it.

My jaw hangs slightly and I reach to hold his shoulder.
