Badrik stared into the mirror, his gaze fixed upon his own reflection. He sighed, a mixture of frustration and determination coursing through his mind.
He began to narrate his inner monologue, his voice tinted with a hint of nostalgia.
"I've been through many bizarre experiences in my life," he said, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Growing up, I was obsessed with ancient folklores and mystical creatures. It began as a fascination, a curiosity that burned with unquenchable fire. And as I grew older, I realized that I couldn't simply sit on that excitement and fascination without doing something about it. So I made a choice, to follow my curiosity and dedicate my life as a cryptozoologist," he continued. "I assembled a team that shared my enthusiasm and together, we explored the darkest corners of the world in search of hidden secrets and unexplained phenomena."
"Our hard work paid off," Badrik continued, his eyes reflecting the weight of his past accomplishments. "We stumbled upon extraordinary things, creatures that were believed to be mere myths. We documented them, analyzed them, and shared our findings with the world. Our popularity grew and we were regarded as pioneers in our field. We were sought after, and our research was eagerly anticipated by many."
"But as time passed," Badrik sighed, his expression growing more contemplative, "our popularity began to wane. The world became accustomed to our discoveries, the thrill of our work slowly fading into the background. People wanted something new, something fresh... and that's when I realized, I had to find the next big thing."
Badrik paused for a moment, his gaze drifting away from the mirror. "In my line of work, finding something truly extraordinary can be rare. Most of the time, we encounter cases that turn out to be misconceptions or just plain hoaxes," he said, a tinge of disappointment lacing his words. "People often mistake normal phenomena for something supernatural, and that's how many folklores and mythological creatures come into existence."
As Badrik allowed his mind to drift, the sound of someone entering the room abruptly cut through his reverie. Startled, he turned his gaze to the source of the intrusion and found the man who had interrupted his musings.
"Hey, Badrik," the man said with a touch of urgency in his voice, "we need you to fetch some water. Stop daydreaming and get to work, We are not adventurous cryptozoologist anymore."
Badrik's irritation simmered beneath the surface at the man's interruption, and he begrudgingly got up. As he walked away to fetch water for his fields, he spoke, his tone tinged with a hint of disappointment. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered silently. "Just a regular farmer now. By the way, this is Patrick. He was my work buddy when I was a cryptozoologist and he is still my work buddy as I am a farmer now, Everyone left my cryptozoologist crew as time went on and as our popularity faded away but he stayed. I work at his father's farm and I make a decent living now."
Both Badrik and Patric decided that it was time to water the fields, Patrick says that this harvest is going to be extremely bad. Badrik's expression soured somewhat at the reminder of their financial situation. "That's exactly why we need to return to cryptozoology," he said, a hint of stubbornness in his voice. "That's our passion, our calling. We can't keep grinding away at this farm, it's not who we are. We need to find what truly makes us happy and brings us money.
Badrik sighed, his expression clouding as Patrick pointed out the shift in trends. "Yeah, I know," he admitted, a tinge of sadness coloring his words. "My books were a hit back in 2013, but times have changed. People's tastes have shifted, and the thrill of mystery has faded. Cryptozoology isn't as popular as it once was."
"You know what?" Badrik said, a glimmer of determination flickering in his eyes. "Let's go on a vacation. Farming isn't our thing, we're just doing it for a living. Your father can take care of the crops while we're gone."
Patrick's face fell as he reminded him of their lack of savings. "That's the problem, we're broke."
Badrik couldn't help but smile mischievously as Patrick commented on their financial situation. "I may have had some money set aside," he confessed, a hint of a devilish grin playing on his lips. "I planned to use it for cryptozoological expeditions, but I suppose a vacation isn't too bad of an idea either, especially now that people don't care much for mystery anymore."
Patrick grined softly and said "You cunning bastard"
Badrik pondered for a moment before suggesting a destination. "What about somewhere peaceful then? Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of big cities like New York? How about a quiet cabin in the woods or a quaint countryside village?"
Patrick nodded in agreement, his expression lightening with the mention of a peaceful getaway. "Yeah, that sounds much better than some overcrowded city," he mused, a glimmer of excitement sparkling in his eyes. "A quiet cabin in the woods or a charming countryside village would be perfect for a break from our regular lives. Let's get away from all the noise and chaos and find some tranquility."
Badrik and Patrick started walking home, discussing potential vacation destinations as they went. They considered various options, weighing the pros and cons of each. As they continued their conversation, they exchanged ideas and suggestions for where to go, excited by the possibilities ahead of them. Their journey home was filled with the anticipation of planning a break from their usual routine and the thrill of discovering new places together.
Patrick nodded, realizing that he should inform his father about their upcoming trip. "I should probably tell my dad about our vacation plans," he said, a touch of hesitation in his voice. "He might have some concerns or want to know where I'm going to be. It's better to let him know instead of just disappearing, right. I will tell him to look after our farm too, My father said that he is bored doing nothing in the house all day.
As Patrick decided to inform his father, Badrik took the opportunity to do some research. He took out his phone and began searching for tranquil vacation spots in the United States, eager to find the ideal location for their getaway. His fingers flew across the keyboard, typing in keywords like "peaceful" and "U.S vacation" as he browsed through various travel websites and reviews, looking for the perfect setting to escape the chaos of their lives.
As Badrik scrolled through the results, a particular destination caught his eye: Colorado. He paused, his curiosity piqued by the stunning images and descriptions of the serene landscapes and breathtaking views. The state's majestic mountains, verdant forests, and tranquil towns seemed like the ultimate escape from their everyday lives. A small smile tugged at the corner of Badrik's lips as he contemplated Colorado as their vacation destination.
Badrik's curiosity was sparked, and he turned to Patrick with a suggestion in mind. "How about Colorado?" he asked, his tone filled with anticipation. "It's got some of the most stunning landscapes and peaceful spots in the U.S. We can explore the mountains, enjoy nature, and relax in tranquility. Plus, it's a change of pace from the hustle and bustle of our usual routines."
"Yeah, Sounds cool" said Patrick, he continued "Colorado might change the way we look at life, Let's make this vacation extremely memorable..."
