In the small, snow-covered town of Evergreen, Christmas preparations are in full swing, but far up in the surrounding mountains, a heartbreaking discovery is made forcing Melanie to return to the town that her parents called home.
Amidst the festive cheer, Morgan, a lonely Alpha with a difficult past, struggles with the weight of his loneliness. 　　"Morgan is the one who found your parents and brought them back to town." She states simply as I sigh in frustration.


　　"Fucking hell Sarah! You could have told me sooner so that I could at least thank the man!" I exclaimed as my head turned towards where I had seen him last, but his truck that sat across from where I had parked my own car showed no signs of movement..


　　"Your thanks would have been wasted on him Melanie," She admonishes, "I highly doubt that an unintelligible grunt is a satisfying response to your heartfelt words."


　　I grimaced and knew instantly that she was right. If he was as curt and bad tempered as earlier, I probably would have dissolved into tears in front of him.
