Chapter 35 A Heart Full of Love

  Morgan's PoV

  "Mel," I murmur, my voice a low rumble against her ear. My arms are bands of steel around her, not out of possessiveness, but protection- instincts that have been dormant for too long now stirred awake by her presence. I feel her stir, her body a gentle undulation against mine, awakening from slumber's sweet embrace.

  "Morgan?" Her voice is husky with sleep, eyes fluttering open to reveal hazel depths that hold the world's joy within their gaze.

  "Morning," I say, though it's more growl than word, my throat tight with emotions that I'm still grappling to understand. To be this close, to share such vulnerability- it's as alien as it is addictive.

  She stretches languidly, a contented sigh escaping her lips as she snuggles closer into my chest. "Did you sleep well?" she asks, her hand tracing idle patterns over the hard planes of my abdomen, sending jolts of pleasure through me that are both primal and profoundly human.
