CHAPTER 6 Jealous

  LEAH'S POV

The more I thought about it, the more I began to wonder why he had chosen me. Was it just to make himself look good? Or was there something more to it?

I tried to push the thoughts away, not wanting to let them ruin the night, but they kept coming back. Just as I was starting to get lost in my own thoughts, Ian's voice broke through.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for an answer.

I hesitated for a moment, not sure if I should be honest with him. But then I remembered that he had been nothing but kind and supportive since I'd met him.

"I was just wondering why you chose me as your date," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I mean, there are so many other girls here who are prettier and more popular than me. So I was wondering what your angle was."

I held my breath as I waited for his response, afraid of what he might say. But to my surprise, he just laughed.
