IAN'S POV
"I know that you're trying to do what you think is best for the pack," I said, trying to keep my voice even.
"But don't you see that you're hurting me in the process? I'm your son, and I'm asking you to let me choose my own mate. Is that too much to ask?"
My father let out a heavy sigh. "I know this is difficult for you, and I'm sorry that you're going through this," he said.
"But I have to think about the pack as a whole, not just you.
"If you don't marry Louisa, it could cause all sorts of problems for the pack," my father continued.
"There could be a power struggle, or the other packs could see us as weak. I can't let that happen. I'm sorry, but I have to think about what's best for everyone."
I felt like I was up against a brick wall. No matter what I said, my father wasn't going to change his mind. "I see," I said, my voice trembling with emotion.
"So my happiness doesn't matter to you huh? I don't love Louisa and I don't want to marry her.
