IAN'S POV
"I want to talk to you about something important." I said, taking a deep breath.
"Of course, Ian. What is it?" Louisa asked, looking concerned.
"I've been thinking about our relationship and I need to be honest with you..." I said, but she cut me off in the middle of my words.
"I'm sorry, but let's order something. You see, I haven't had anything today, my breakfast this morning was really and I mean really light so… can we order?" she asked smiling.
I was taken aback by her interruption. I hadn't expected her to be so dismissive of what I wanted to say. But I decided to play along for now. I could always bring up the topic later.
"Of course, Louisa. We can order something to eat first." I said, trying to hide my disappointment.
We ordered our meals and waited for them to arrive. The silence was deafening, and I could feel the tension in the air. I knew that I had to say something, but I didn't know what to say.
