  It was so lovely to see her finally relax and smile again. I knew it was foolish of me to believe we would jump straight into the blissful honeymoon stage, but I never pictured her struggling like this. It also took me a while to realize I was part of the problem; well, I didn't realize my mother smacked into the back of my head—several times. But I did understand she was right.

  She slept for almost two days. Yes, she kind of freaked out and threw everything in the bed at me when I told her. But when I told her about how the nanny and mom had been in here with Astrid just to make sure she didn't miss her, she calmed. It also helped a lot having Myra here.
