CHAPTER 51 Mine

  Rowena POV

The man driving the car slams on the brakes, and I fly forward, hitting the car's dash. I rub my shoulder gingerly and glare in his direction.

The man is quite handsome. He has black hair and bright hazel eyes. Tattoos peek out from under his t-shirt, and I cock my head as I stare at him curiously.

The woman beside me is sobbing quietly. She has beautifully dark skin and brown curly hair.

"I am sorry if I made you cry," I say. "I didn't mean to."

"You have to know who I am," the woman cries. "I was your best friend. I helped you escape the wrath of your brother."

I draw my bottom lip between my teeth and look at the woman. I try to remember who she is. Her brown eyes are dripping with tears, and I feel guilty. I wish I could remember who she is.

Suddenly, a memory pops into my mind. The woman sitting beside me is wrapping a handkerchief around my hair. She is telling me something, but I can't hear what she is saying. The memory is silent.
