Zoe POV
I throw off my covers and flop my arms to my sides. My bed feels empty without Leo in it. It is the first night in weeks that Leo hasn't snuck into my bed after the pack house went to sleep. It feels wrong without him by my side.
'That is because you keep denying what he is to us,' my wolf, Tala, scoffs.
'I don't feel the mate bond between us,' I lie to Tala.
'You can't lie to me when I live in your mind,' Tala groans.
'I just expected it to be more,' I admit to Tala.
'You are stubborn,' Tala says as she curls up in a ball in the back of my mind.
I look down at the black lingerie that I put on in anticipation of Leo's visit. It would really be a shame for it to go to waste. Slipping out of bed, I slide on my robe and tiptoe out of my room.
The hallways of the pack house are dark and quiet. No one will catch me on my way to Leo's room, but I remain quiet nonetheless.
