CHAPTER 87 Humans And Werewolves

  Alyssa's POV

Laying in Travis' arms, I felt his heartbeat pulsing in his chest as I rested my head against him. This moment felt wonderful, as though we hadn't a care in the world and that we could enjoy our life together without the threat of Derek Charlton looming over us.

I knew this was a false sense of security, but I wanted to enjoy this feeling for a little while, regardless.

"Tell me what you're thinking, Alyssa," Travis said, his voice a blissful purr as he spoke.

"You mean you can't read my mind, Travis?" I asked with a smile forming on my lips.

Travis chuckled "You know I don't like to pry into your mind when you don't have the ability to return the favour, it's unfair,"

I felt grateful that Travis did not abuse his enhanced abilities when it came to delving into my mind. I appreciated his trust in me, which made me happy to be able to tell him my thoughts whenever I wished.
