Travis' POV
I woke up with a sudden jolt. All of my senses felt as though they were on fire, and the face of my mate etched into my mind. I ached for her, like a sensation I hadn't seen Alyssa for such a long time, and my heart ached and pined both at the same time.
"Alyssa," I said out loud with a gasp as I sat up in bed. My hands patted the bed by my side, where Alyssa had fallen asleep. But that side of the bed remained empty, far different from when I had fallen asleep.
"Alyssa!" I called her name again, this tone raising my tone, hoping to hear her response. Perhaps she had gone to the bathroom, and I was overreacting. But I knew Alyssa was in danger, I could sense it.
Taking my eyes to the bathroom door, even though closed I could see there was no light shining through the cracks of the door.
Sniffing the air, I caught the faint scent of Alyssa, but it wasn't strong enough for her to have been around here for long. She had disappeared!
