"Sorry, miss, but your father needs some rest now." The doctor reappeared, offering me a sympathetic smile as he noticed I sat beside my father's bedside. Quickly wiping away my tears, I nodded with a weak smile. "Of course, I understand. Thank you for letting me see him. I hope he wakes up soon." Leaning across, I kissed my father goodbye. He was all I had left since my mother's passing, and I couldn't bear to lose him, too.
Leaving the room, I found Avery and Marcel waiting outside, their faces etched with concern. As soon as they saw me, Avery shifted nervously while Marcel strode over, taking my hands in his.
"Daisy, we need to talk. Let's head out of here." Marcel suggested.
Confusion furrowed my brow as I asked, "What's going on?" My mind began racing as Marcel drew a deep breath and met my gaze. "We just received word that Gabriel has gone missing. We have no idea where he could be."
