CHAPTER 26

Something inside me snapped. "No more secrets. Gabriel. You can’t keep hiding things from me. I am pregnant with your child. Did you forget that?" I clenched my fists angrily at him, only calming down when a nurse approached us and insisted we keep quiet or leave. It was disrespectful to other patients and their families. I felt my cheek burn red with embarrassment as I profusely apologised to the nurse.

Gabriel's expression softened, his eyes filled with regret. "I'm sorry, Daisy. I never meant to cause you any more pain. Please, let me make it up to you. I promise to be honest and protect you and our child at all costs."

"No, Gabriel. I want to be with my father right now. I think you should leave. I want some space. Please go." I said.

As Gabriel's face fell with disappointment, I felt a pang of guilt and a sense of needing some space to process everything that had been revealed. He nodded silently, his expression a mix of hurt and understanding.
