Caroline's POV
After the burial ended, everyone went their separate ways. Jackson and I held hands as we walked back to the house. As soon as I stepped inside, a wave of emotions washed over me, and I felt a sense of relief.
Suddenly, I felt Jackson's arms wrap around me from behind, catching me off guard. His touch brought me comfort, and a smile formed on my lips. "What are you doing?" I asked, my voice filled with intensity, causing Jackson to release the hug.
"I just miss having private time with you," Jackson replied, and my smile grew even wider. I looked at him, feeling completely at ease. His gentle smile brought me peace, and the scent of his body satisfied my senses, causing my heart to beat faster than usual.
Jackson broke the hug and stood in front of me, his soft gaze melting into my soul. I found myself lost in my thoughts, unable to move.
