CHAPTER 87 The Wolf's Vengeance

  Emily Pov

My father's abandoned factory is a dark and cold setting. The passage through the portal led us to where the old factory entrance used to be, now dominated by dust, dirt, and grass sprouts reclaiming their place. There are some light spots that Nina placed to illuminate the path, but the darkness of the night is stronger than the lanterns and electric lamps Nina spread around. I blink my eyes a few times until my lupine vision emerges and helps me adjust my eyes to see better in the dark.

With shoves and curses, Nina leads me to the back of the abandoned factory, through a long poorly lit corridor, where shadows of discarded furniture form imaginary figures ready to capture any trace of light that tries to dominate them and make them disappear.

"Where's Amy?" I ask worriedly, my voice echoing through the eerie corridor. Nina doesn't respond immediately, just pushes my shoulder for me to keep walking.
