The sun is setting as I finally manage to leave the Blue Bay Pack. I observe the horizon while driving, the mixture of the sun's red hues fading and the dark blue of the night creeping in, stars starting to paint the sky. Anxiety pounds in my chest as I drive towards the hospital where Amy is hospitalized.
I drive calmly, trying to prolong the journey to keep my anxiety under control. Amy still hasn't woken up; it's been days since she's been under observation by the doctors, each day improving more, and yet, still no sign of awakening.
I park the car in the hospital parking lot; night has settled in, and all the stars are visible in the sky. The parking lot hosts few cars; the hospital stands tall and imposing. I swallow hard before getting out of the car and heading to Amy's room. Each step is heavy, laden with concern for my best friend's condition.
