CHAPTER 98 Hunting Ceremonies

  "I like to believe so. But there will be treacherous waves in the future, there always are. The sea is calm now, soon it may not be, there's no way of knowing. I'm only sure of one thing and one thing only," Benson murmurs, and I lift my eyes to my fiancé's face, curious about what it is. "Sure that I'll always want to be by your side, no matter how the ocean will be."

  His words float into my heart, and for the first time in my new life, I decide to reveal my truth.

  "Benson... I... I need to tell you something important," I stutter nervously. Benson's body stirs beneath me; he settles better on the bed, sitting up. I do the same. His eyes are soft and calm, yet curious at the same time.

  I spend the next few minutes telling Benson about my past life. About being married to Jimmy, how Nina and he killed me. I deliver every important detail to Benson; my heart accelerates with every beat, my throat becomes dry several times, but I continue to recount.
