CHAPTER 43 Return?

  Ally's POV

The cold night whispers through the cracks in the walls of the derelict cabin we've claimed as our temporary sanctuary. Shadows dance along with the flickering candlelight, and I watch the flame's erratic performance, gathering the threads of my resolve. Elliot paces across the splintered wood floor, a caged predator wearied by confinement. His wolf mirrors his restlessness beneath the surface of his skin.

"Elliot," I begin, my voice threading into the silence, "I have another plan."

He halts, turning to me with eyes that burn with the intensity of his wolf's spirit. The concern etched in his features is a testament to the bond between us, unspoken but palpable as the charged air before a storm.

"I can go back to Nathan," I say, each word measured, deliberate. "Pretend to surrender. While he believes he has won, I'll find an opportunity to steal the documents- the ones that could dethrone him and end this."
