Yet, they do not know the steel in her spine, the fierce loyalty in her heart that outshines even the purest of moonlit nights. They do not understand that it is Nathan who must be feared.
"Brotherhood is sacred amongst our kind," Alpha Haldis says, his voice a sombre note amidst the discord. "Are you so easily swayed by a pair of soft eyes and whispered promises?"
"Soft eyes do not make hard decisions," I retort, my gaze unwavering. "And it is not whispers that guide me, but the cries of those imprisoned within these very walls."
The hall falls silent, a collective inhale held between them. I watch as their eyes shift, thoughts churning behind stoic masks.
"Imprisoned?" Alpha Tamsin finally breathes out, her posture rigid with newfound attention.
"Family members," I reveal, my words sharp as shards of glass. "Nathan holds them captive, leveraging their lives for loyalty. This is the honour of your king."
