"Are you going to sit down there all day and act like you didn't notice my presence?" Ethan quietly asked Everly.
They were under the oak tree in the garden that was shielding them away from the harsh ray of the sun, Everly seated on a wooden bench, holding a can of smoothie, while Ethan stood behind her like her bodyguard.
She nodded her head to the rhythm of the melancholic sound the birds produced as they hopped from one branch of the tree to another, totally ignoring Ethan and what he just said.
"Everly" he called out, "Everly" he called out when he got no response, reaching out to touch her shoulders.
"What exactly do you want from a shameless gold digger like me?" Every snapped, brushing his hands off her shoulders.
"Are you still holding onto that?" Ethan asked, sounding like he didn't know Everly was still holding onto that after noticing the fact that she had been ignoring and giving him attitude for days now.
"Was I not supposed to hold on to it?"
