CHAPTER 53

  As she stared at her red bulging eye and her sunken collarbone in the mirror, the ugly incident that happened on the dinner date with her so-called husband flashed before her eyes again, making tears roll down her sullen cheeks.

  Recently, Everly had come to notice that crying wasn’t difficult anymore, unlike before when only a certain level of pain could bring tears to her eyes or when she had dwelled on a painful incident for too long then she burst out crying. But these days, just a mere thought of it and seeing herself in a disheveled state makes tears roll down her cheeks.

  She has been lost in her world for more than two weeks, and she has yet to think about wanting to return to her normal boring life. She had gotten so lost in the world of sorrow she had created for herself that she was beginning to feel her soul slipping gradually away from her, but she didn't know whether it fights for it or let it go.
