"I left college, and I tried going back home" Allison continued after a short pause, picking up her cutleries to slowly dive into her food while Everly stared at her with an undivided attention, taking sips from her wine at intervals.
"Honestly, I thought the whole fire that my parents, especially my mum, set in the house about my Dera's dismissal would have been quenched because it was a whole year already, but I thought wrong," Allison said, letting another weak smile play on her face.
"One year is such a short period to mourn a close one Allison" Everly sounded like she was trying to scold or correct her for having such a mentality.
