"What might be the cause of that?" Everly asked in a hush tone like there was a third party seated among them and she didn't want the person to hear of their conversation.
"Everything," Devan said bitterly, allowing his gaze to drop from Everly to the table, "Everything Everly" he murmured on.
"Okay, I think you really need to put yourself together, Devan," Everly replied in the same hushed tone, "Talk to me, what is going on."
"I am exhausted, tired of fighting, tired of the endless struggles of living," Devan stated.
"You can't say that Devan, why would you say such a thing?" Everly asked, her voice ladened with concern, "Don't you know the struggles and the fights are exactly what characterizes our life?"
"But then it is getting too much and unbearable, the battle is getting too fierce for me to handle," Devan answered and sighed loudly, "And I am tired of pretending like all is well when things are far from being like that, and I am tired of fighting."
