CHAPTER 63 Anastasia's Departure

  Ethan's pov

The image of Anastasia bowing before me so brazenly and mockingly is what wakes me up in the morning. Not even when I have to endure the curse have I had such a horrible night's sleep as I did last night. The memory of the scene replaying incessantly in my mind was like a torturous echo, a nightmare that refused to abandon me.

I slept for only a few hours, and even in that short period, Anastasia invaded my mind, sneaking into my dreams like a shadow that refused to disappear with the morning light. My subconscious repeated the scene of her leaving, moving farther and farther away from me, and her stubbornness, the audacity in every word she uttered, caused me unbearable anxiety, a malaise that settled in my chest, and refused to leave.
