CHAPTER 100 Do Not Control Yourself

  The green-eyed woman nodded. "Follow us," she instructed, her tone leaving no room for argument. "The Council will decide if you are worthy to see Seraphina-"

  "I am his son."

  "I am Autumn Clark."

  Ethan and I introduced ourselves to them, our voices steady despite the tension in the air. As our names left our lips, the two women exchanged a quick, almost imperceptible glance. They gulped, and their eyes reflected a flicker of hesitation, but after a moment, they nodded to each other.

  Just then, another figure stepped out of the same door. Seraphina, Ethan's mother, emerged.

  "It seems like you have finally decided to lower your pride and meet," she said, her gaze fixed on Ethan. Her tone carried a mixture of relief and reproach. With a few whispered words to the two witches, they nodded and slipped back into the shadows, leaving us alone with Seraphina.
