Emily's POV
The tears welled up in my eyes after he said that. I couldn't hold it and just allowed them to fall freely. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. I was just cramped with a lot of emotions. Gratitude, relief, and something else, something deeper.
"I... I don't know how to thank you. This is more than I could ever ask for. You don't know how much this means to me."
He reached out and gently placed a hand on my shoulder.
"You don't have to thank me, Emily. I'm happy to help. His health is important, and so is your peace of mind. I can't have you working for me and running around the same time. It's okay. Everything will be fine." He added.
I nodded and wiped out a tear that had escaped my cheek. I didn't know how I was going to thank him any longer. Was he really going to do this for me without expecting anything in return, rather than doing my job of being close to him.
