CHAPTER 26: Childhood Memories

  Berton's POV

After breakfast, Emily and I walked to the car together. I wanted her to join me in the office this morning to further help with making me feeling a lot better for the rest of the day. The sun was high in the sky now and cast a warm glow across the Packhouse garden that wasn't from the garage. The sight was one for sore eyes and I couldn't wait to come here with her some day. That would be perfection, I thought. Thinking about what it would feel like being in a calm place with someone that made me feel a lot better. I couldn't help but also notice how her hair also shivered in the light.

Getting into the car, I took the wheel and began driving. I felt a lot happier when we arrived at my company and made our way into my office. I wanted to see her in my element, handling responsibilities that came with being in my position. I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.
