CHAPTER 35: I Believe You

  Berton's POV

I woke up to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains. It felt warm and I swerved my head to the side when I felt someone beside me. I realized it was Emily. She was still in my arms. Her presence filled me with a sense of peace that I hadn't felt in a long time. Last night was absolutely amazing.

For a moment, I simply lay there, savoring the feeling in my groin. But then doubts crept in. Did she feel the same way about me? Or was she just here because of my illness? She stirred, slowly waking up. Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at me, her cheeks tubing a delicate shade of pink. I couldn't help but smile at the show.

She had no idea how I loved her so much for what she'd done. I couldn't wait to have more of the same with her soon enough. She flashed her eyes open again and our eyes met again. I chuckled, running my hand across her cheeks.

"Good morning." I said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
