Sam's POV
"Hi," I said, stepping up to Emily after the ceremony. She'd just come off stage where she'd delivered an amazing performance. There was something about the way she held herself, a quiet confidence that struck me deeply.
"Hello," she replied, smiling warmly. "You must be Sam. Alpha Berton mentioned you."
"Yeah, that's me," I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck, "I wanted to tell you that you were incredible up there. It really moved me."
She smiled again as her eyes softened. "Oh, thank you. Everything I did there was from my heart and I'm really happy you liked it."
"Can I have a few minutes with you please, alone?" I asked, smiling. She nodded, glancing around as if she was waiting for someone. Smiling, I gestured her to a quiet corner so we could sit and talk. She carried herself with a certain kind of grace and that made me drawn to her, not just because she was beautiful, but because there was a strength in her that I admired.
