CHAPTER 49: You Are The Problem

  Berton's POV

I returned not feeling good at all. I couldn't just believe my mother and the things she was trying to achieve with the way she had been behaving recently towards Emily and I. I knew I had to speak to her because she was surely going to do worse if she wasn't stopped right now. Something had to be done and I was going to do that right away. The past few days had been nothing but the nearest things to nightmares.

When I walked into the house, she was waiting in the living room, sipping tea as if nothing had happened. I took a deep breath and walked in, making my way to the couch.

"Welcome, Son." She said, before setting the cup on the saucer. She was having coffee. I didn't say anything, instead I got to the seat and sat, staring at her. Her brows came together in confusion as she looked at me, probably wondering why I didn't look quite okay this afternoon.
