CHAPTER 71: Pregnant?

  Emily's POV

When I woke up, the hospital felt strange and unfamiliar, and I knew it should. My body ached, and the disoriented feeling was still there, followed by the sterile smell of machines that surrounded me. I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot my arm again, reminding me of the accident and particularly about the impact that had caused me to lose my consciousness.

I sighed and relaxed back on the bed for fear of stirring up another pain. At that point, I was still trying to gather my thoughts, but it was very hard. That was when I remembered the demo. It was in a crash! My heart jumped as I thought about it. I was supposed to deliver it, but then this happened.

That was the moment a nurse walked in. I'd only noticed because her shoes were producing a soft, squeaking noise against the floor. She smiled warmly at me.
