Berton's POV
"What do you think about her upbringing? She must be really educated, don't you think? She has so much knowledge, and she knows what she wants in her life. She's just like you in some ways, you always know what you want and even though not many agree to your decision, you prove difficult, and you're headstrong," my mother said, but I could tell that she was hinting on something. She had been going on for hours about how good we were together.
She had been forcing conversation as well. Telling me unnecessary stuff about Rose that she believed made us compatible. The smile on her face just irked me and although Rose was smiling back at her to be polite, I could tell that she didn't want to get here as well just like yesterday.
I had asked her if her parents were the one forcing her to accept the advancement my mother was making towards her, but she was unable to respond as someone cut into the conversation with the hope of getting my attention.
