Emily's POV
A lot had changed in those years. I had grown, not just in age, but in maturity and strength. The heartbreak from Berton had left deep scars, but I had learned to carry on, especially with a child who needed everything I could offer to make sure that my child was comfortable and safe. One evening, Sam came over, as he often did. He usually brought me groceries and a warm smile.
He never left me, despite all these years. He was always there for me and made sure that I got anything I wanted, but that was only if I asked. I was surprised that despite the years, he had been there for me, making sure that I wasn't uncomfortable. I appreciated his company and his unwavering support. We were sitting at the kitchen table, sipping tea, when I caught him looking at me. I looked at him, but he immediately looked down.
