CHAPTER 86: Familiar Scent

  Berton's POV

I was walking through the garden when it happened. I'd never expected any of it to happen, but it had just happened. I caught a familiar scent. And it wasn't just any scent. It was the one that made me stand still immediately. I was rooted to the spot as I sniffed the air, trying to place where I'd known the scent. It was still there, and never left.

It was the same sweet fragrance I'd missed for years, I remembered! But it worried me because it belonged to Emily and Emily was long gone. I wondered what could possibly bring her sent back, or was the universe still trying to taunt me. I already had enough, and I just wanted to go back to the life I used to live before meeting her, except the part where I had to deal with my wolf every day. I just wanted to rest for once and get her out of my mind, but it was impossible.
