CHAPTER 96: Getting Back On Track

  Emily's POV

  "Are you okay?" I asked as I slowly dropped the food on the table. Berton nodded his head. He was much better now and it was only a few days. I could feel his gaze on me from the corner of my eyes.

  He had requested that I stayed with him and I already had no intention of doing that. I felt guilty of this situation because if only I had just paid attention to my surroundings then nothing could've happened to him.

  "Emily, why do you still look sad?" I heard his voice and looking up at him, I noticed the worried look etched across his face. "Is it about the accident?" He hit straight at the eye.

  "How could I not feel bothered about it? I should've paid attention to the road I was crossing, but I failed to do so and look where it has landed you in. I couldn't imagine what would happen if you had died in that car accident," I explained, but his face remained blank.
