Elena's POV.
The cab pulled up to my house, and I stepped out, hugging Mercy goodbye. "We'll talk over the phone," she said, and I nodded in agreement. I was about to walk away when she called out my name. "Elena," she said, and I turned around to face her. "Please stay away from Professor Danvers," she warned, and I chuckled reassuringly.
"Don't worry, I don't care about him," I lied, caressing her hands.
She stared at me for a moment, then smiled and said, "Fine, I trust you."
I smiled back and walked away, thinking to myself, "There's no way I can leave Professor Danvers alone, never."
I pushed the door open, and to my surprise, I found my dad pacing back and forth in the living room. My gaze instinctively went to the clock, and I noticed it was already Eleven O Clock pm.
