Derek's POV.
"Hello," she said, smiling, and I smiled back at her.
"Should I get you a coffee?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
She shook her head, "No, I'm fine," she said, and I nodded, putting on my jacket.
"Are you going anywhere?" she asked, rubbing her eyes, and I nodded.
"My dad, he just called me for something urgent," I said, trying to sound convincing.
"Ooops, okay, let me get ready so you can drop me off," she said, and I let out a sigh of relief.
"Fine," I said, trying to sound calm.
The truth was that I was not going anywhere, or rather, I shouldn't say I didn't have a meeting with my father. But I needed Elena to go. I fear that if she spends more time here, she will be his to ask me if I want her or not, if I want to reject her or not. And I'm not in my right senses to think.
I needed her to leave before I did something I regret, before I admitted my true feelings to her. Or before I chased her away from me with my words or actions.
