Derek's POV.
As I slowly came to, I let out a groan and opened my eyes to the faint light of dawn. I turned to see Elena still fast asleep, and my heart swelled with affection. I leaned in to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead before standing up and making my way back to my car.
As I drove away, my thoughts shifted to Richard, and my anger simmered. He had crossed a line by holding Elena captive, and I knew he wouldn't stop there. I needed to take action before he struck again.
I changed my route and headed to Marrok Bar, knowing he likely spent the night there. I sped towards the bar, my resolve growing with each passing moment.
I parked outside and walked in, my eyes scanning the relatively empty space for Marrok before making my way up to the VIP section.
I knocked on the door, and Marrok's sleepy voice asked, "Who's there?"
"Derek," I replied.
He opened the door, rubbing his eyes, and asked, "What's up? Why are you here so early?"
