Daisy's POV
My eyes blazing with fierce defensiveness. I picked up a stone, my body tensed, ready to spring into action, as if I was prepared to fight for my life. I scrambled backward, my hands behind me, supporting my weight.
"Don't you dare step any closer!" I cautioned, my voice trembling with fear.
I scooted my backside along the floor, attempting to create more distance between us. My eyes remained locked on the figure, silently begging him to stay away.
Fear gripped me, I had no idea what he might do. All I knew was I had to escape, to safeguard myself. So, I continued retreating, my heart pounding, breaths shallow and quick.
"If you come any closer, I will smack this stone on your head!" I declared, attempting to sound more courageous than I truly felt.
"Relax and put away the stone, I'm not here to harm you," Alaric assured me as he approached me.
