Daisy's POV
A sense of unease settles in the pit of my stomach, something is wrong, Alaric is lying.
The palace maids have revealed the truth, they said Delilah was brutally attacked and taken away by unknown men, and Alaric was aware of it all along.
His lies are like a slap in the face, a betrayal of my trust. I'm consumed by a burning desire to uncover the truth about Delilah's fate. Was she killed? Or what did he do to her?
The uncertainty is suffocating.
And now, even this trip we are embarking on, I feel like there is more to it. Something just feels off about it, but now there is nothing I can do about it, so I have to calm down and play along, waiting for the perfect moment to escape.
The journey dragged on for what felt like forever. My mind raced with terrifying thoughts, conjuring up the worst possible scenarios.
