CHAPTER 9: The Message From Alpha Atlas

  Blair's pov

Gabriel and Caleb had their breakfast slowly and quietly while I waited impatiently for Gabriel to at least tell me what message Alpha Atlas had for me.

I watched them eat and the moment I saw Gabriel push his plate further away from him, I walked towards them in a bid to clear the table but I just wanted him to see me and remember what message he's supposed to give me.

"The food was wonderful, Blair," Gabriel said, and I smiled.

"Thank you," I replied as I packed up the empty plates and cleared the food crumbs off the table.

"When you're done, meet me at the terrace," he said and left the dining area while I quickly finished up with what I was doing and hurried up to meet him.

"I'm here," I said as I approached him, and he only looked over his shoulder to acknowledge my presence.

"Is there troubling news?" I asked and fiddled with my sweaty fingers, but he didn't say anything and just kept looking into the empty space.
