CHAPTER 48: Stranded

  Blair's pov

  I left the ward I was put in and went in search of Sinclair, but he wasn't in the reception by the time I got there, and I was filled with worry. I must have hurt him with my words, but there's really nothing I can do.

  I found my mother through her scent and immediately rushed to her ward.

  "Oh my dear child..." she called out and opened her arms for me to embrace. I held back my tears and wrapped my arms around her. We stayed that way in silence, and my heart was beating so fast.

  "Mother, we need to leave this place now to avoid raising any suspicions," I said and looked around.

  This was a human hospital, so when the nurses see that all the bruises on our bodies have healed completely, they'll definitely ask questions, and we won't have a good answer to them.
