Blair's pov
For the first time in a long time, I felt whole again. Like I was given another reason to live once again.
Sinclair's mother glared at me with those piercing eyes but I managed to pretend not to notice them boring into my soul. I played with my fingers while they finished with all the paperwork.
Just while my eyes were glued to my fingers, I suddenly saw a hand in front of me. I slowly lifted my eyes and looked up at the owner and I was too stunned to react.
"Come on..." her once stern and hateful voice urged and I looked over at Sinclair to make sure it was safe for me.
I finally took her hand and she stood me up from the sofa and wrapped her arms around me.
"You're a strong woman and I know your mother would be proud to have such a brave daughter.." she said with a smile and my throat burned. If only she knew my mother was freezing up in the morgue.
