Sinclair's pov
The council took Gabriel into my father's meeting room in the pack house while I remained outside, consoling my bawling mother. Caleb had always been more than a son to her. Due to the few-month gap between Caleb and me, my mother treated him as her own.
Caleb's death still gave me shivers, and I blamed myself for sitting idle in that stupid cage while things went south over here. If Alpha Atlas had not gone out of his way to prove his authority over my life, I most definitely would have been around when Gabriel was raving mad and something would have been done to stop Caleb from dying.
My heart was heavy, and I sat with my head lowered and my eyes glued to my legs for most of the moment.
After what felt like an eternity, hinges creaked, and the door to my father's study pulled open. The first elder walked out with his head hung and an emotionless expression.
